Frequently Asked Questions

What types of dog training services do you offer in Australia?

We provide a wide range of dog training services in Australia, including obedience training, puppy training, all three phases of IGP training, ANKC obedience, sport dog training, and working dog training. We also specialise in reactivity training and behaviour modification. Whether you have a pet dog, sport dog, reactive dog, or working dog, we create customised training programs to match your dog’s needs and drive.

Do you offer online dog training sessions?

Yes, in addition to in-person one-on-one dog training sessions in Canberra, we also offer online dog training Australia-wide, including virtual programs for pet dog training, reactive dog behaviour, puppy training, and sport dog foundation training. Our online dog trainers give clear step-by-step guidance, personalised training plans, and ongoing support so you can train effectively from anywhere.

What age should my puppy start training?

Puppies can begin training from 8 weeks old, and early training is the best way to build confidence, focus, and good manners. Many new owners start with essential puppy training products such as puppy tug toys, soft bite tugs, lightweight leashes, and puppy crates to support learning at home.

We’re also excited to announce that our Puppy Training Equipment Package — including everything you need to get started (tug toys, leads, treat pouch, and foundation training gear) - will be available soon in our online store.

How long does dog training take?

Training time depends on your dog’s age, breed, behaviour and goals. Working dogs and sport dogs training for IGP, ANKC, or advanced competition obedience may train for longer than a pet dog learning basics. Reactive dog training often requires multiple sessions to build confidence and reduce reactivity. However, most owners notice improvement after only a few lessons. Consistency at home is key.

What dog training equipment do I need to start training?

Basic equipment includes a training leash, slip collar, long line, tug toy, treat pouch and high-value treats. For stronger or high-drive dogs, we recommend heavy duty dog leads, working dog leashes, dog training harnesses, and grip dog leads.
If you train in IGP or protection sports, you may need:

  • IGP training equipment Australia

  • IGP bite sleeves

  • bite tugs and durable linen tug toys

  • bite wedges & puppy bite pillows

  • reward tug toys for dogs

All of these items are available in our online store.
